Khemrian Giant conversion by WordBearer Khemrian Giant conversion by WordBearer
Ok, extremely pleased with how this came out. Essentially I saw the new Khemrian Necrosphinx/Warsphinx kit and my muse just went "Hey Jon, you could make a really amazing giant from that kit."

Then after several hours of physical pain in which I desperately tried every arguement my rational mind could level against my muse (But I won't have money for food, but I have 3 other projects I need to get done, but I don't have a tomb kings army, but this will absorb me for the next week, etc...) I eventually gave into the pain and bought the damned kit.

Now 5 days later I have this amazing final product, honestly I think that this is the best conversion I've ever actually done. I managed to sculpt actual biologically correct muscles, never even tried that before!!!

So yeah, enough tooting my own horn here, check out the rest of the views, and click on the download button to see the zoomed in version.

Also as I don't have a tomb kings army I intend to auction this piece on eBay, though there are 2 guys at the store I game at (Hard Knox Games in Radcliff, KY, really great place btw.) who have said that they want it, current offer is $100 for it. If your interested let me know.

Cool, now to start painting it before my muse gives me an aneurism for not converting more...

Two questions:

1) What's the skirt (the metal bit around the lower torso) from?

2) What's the staff made from?

This is an absolutely fantastic miniature; you absolutely captured the feel of what a necrolith would look like, without it appearing 'off,' like the normal one.

10/10, though I'm tempted to say 10!/10, because I keep liking it more and more...

You are very, very dangerous! You will be responsible ... for me getting back into the hobby! After such a long time. Looking at your conversions and seeing what is possible is so inspiring.

Keep up the good work!

Wow, well thanks a ton man. I'm working on finishing this guy and painting to a whole new standard from what I've done in the past. Hoping that it will come out awesome and be done this weekend.

And get back into fantasy if you do get back into one game, its WAY more fun to play than 40k is right now, less of a zero sum game and far more variety in what you will face and what you will see happen in most games.

I can always use the old rules for 40K which is what I have. Way too late to start a fantasy army, not with the big Space Marine and Eldar armies I got. And there's the modelling/hobbying aspect to it, if I can get back to that I'd be happy.
