Description

I've actually been working on this thing for a very long time, over 2 years on and off. This is one of those projects that I'll periodically get very enthused about and get a lot done on and then not touch for 6 months.

Anyways, this is my personally designed superheavy tank based off of the GDI Mammoth tank Mk 3 ([link]). The original construction of the hull sections took about 2 weeks, during which I had to work out the adjustable independent track sections, which while a great concept it turns out that making them actually be functional was far more trouble than it was worth. When its done they will be fixed in place to prevent hassle.

Unfortunately after that stage of early production was finished I ran into two problems. The first one was creating an interior side to the tract sections, which I eventually worked out. While it looks ok and would probably be great once painted this turned out to be a rather overcomplicated solution, requiring about 20 hours of work per track section. Hence why I only have 1.5 of them done...

The second problem was how to design and construct the turret. This took over a year before I finally had a design that I liked. The current form of the turret is rather badass if I do say so myself.

At the moment I think that I will redo the track sections somewhat by taking another 2 land raiders and cutting up 4 more track sections and slapping them together, solving the interior side issue and making my life easier. To account for the increased width as well I'd use shadowsword/baneblade tracks for it then, or something similar.

This model inspired me to make my own tank based heavily on yours. Thanks for giving me a centrepiece for my slowly growing GDI army!!!
